So good to receive your first day-to-day account of India!! You will get used to it!!
Calcutta does take a bit of getting used to...visit the Botanical Gardens..you have to go by car and take your passport with you ...not quite the Botanical Gardens in Glasgow but a very peaceful place. Also the Oxford Book Shop in Park Street..air conditioned and with lots of good books...also a very good internet cafe down the road on same side - broadband connection.
