This is a mountain road with great bends and views. The bends are a mix of blind, tight, sweeping and high visibility. There are no trees or walls, little traffic outside of school run/rush hour times. Dangers are sheep, blind hills and bends, steep edges (so dont run off a bend!)

Ride Info

Start
Beacons Reservoir, A4059
Finish
Penderyn Whiskey Distillery
Distance
16.5 miles
Directions
The road can be completed in a short amount of time at speed in nice conditions so should be considered part of a larger day out. Starting from Beacons Reservoir it is an overall climb to the Penderyn Distillery so you can decide which direction you prefer, or just do both! The Distillery is a very friendly place with tours, tasting and shop so take a rucksack! Check their website to organise a tour or see their tour times. From the A40 as it bypasses Brecon town, take the A470 south. This road is beautiful with stunning valley views and a typical main highway mountain road for Wales. The A4059 will be a right hand turn next to the reservoir.
